Muzan Kibutsuji is the main antagonist of the popular manga and anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is the Demon King, the first of his kind, and the progenitor of all other demons in existence. He is also the leader of the Twelve Kizuki, an organization of the twelve strongest demons that serve under him.

What is his backstory?

Muzan was born in Japan's Heian era, as a frail and sickly human who was diagnosed with a terminal illness. He was given an experimental medicine made from a rare flower called the Blue Spider Lily, which turned him into a demon. He gained a strong and immortal body, but also developed a weakness to sunlight and a hunger for human flesh.

Muzan searched for the flower that could cure him of his demonhood, but could not find it anywhere. He decided to create more demons by injecting his blood into humans, hoping that one of them would eventually overcome the sun or help him find the flower. He also killed anyone who knew about his existence or posed a threat to him, such as the Demon Slayer Corps.

What are his goals and motivations?

Muzan's ultimate goal is to become truly eternal and free from any weaknesses. He is obsessed with finding the Blue Spider Lily or creating a perfect demon that can survive in sunlight. He is also driven by his fear of death and his hatred for humanity.

Muzan is extremely arrogant and narcissistic, believing himself to be superior to everyone else. He views other demons as his tools and disposable pawns, and does not hesitate to kill them if they fail him or betray him. He has no empathy or compassion for anyone, not even his own family or lovers.

How does he interact with other characters?

Muzan is the main enemy of Tanjiro Kamado, the protagonist of the series. Tanjiro's family was slaughtered by Muzan, and his sister Nezuko was turned into a demon by him. Tanjiro vows to avenge his family and find a way to turn Nezuko back into a human.

Muzan is also opposed by the Demon Slayer Corps, an organization of warriors who fight against demons. The corps is led by Kagaya Ubuyashiki, who shares a bloodline with Muzan and can sense his presence. The corps also consists of nine elite fighters called Hashira, who have mastered different forms of swordsmanship.

Muzan has some allies among the demons he created, such as the Twelve Kizuki. They are divided into six Upper Ranks and six Lower Ranks, based on their strength and loyalty to Muzan. The Upper Ranks are more powerful and independent than the Lower Ranks, who are constantly monitored and replaced by Muzan.

Muzan also has some enemies among the demons he created, such as Tamayo and Yushiro. Tamayo was once a human doctor who was turned into a demon by Muzan. She hated him for making her kill her own family and sought to find a cure for demonism. Yushiro was her assistant and lover, who was also turned into a demon by her. They helped Tanjiro and Nezuko in their quest to defeat Muzan.

What are some of his notable feats and abilities?

Muzan is the most powerful demon in existence, with unmatched physical abilities and intelligence. He can manipulate his body shape, size, color, and structure at will, making him able to disguise himself as anyone or anything. He can also regenerate from any injury or damage, unless exposed to sunlight or decapitated by a special sword.

Muzan can use Blood Demon Arts, which are supernatural abilities that vary depending on the user's blood type and personality. Muzan's Blood Demon Art allows him to create shockwaves that can destroy anything in their path. He can also manipulate his blood cells to create clones of himself or infect others with his blood.

Muzan can control all the demons he created with his blood, unless they have developed resistance or immunity to it. He can communicate with them telepathically, give them orders, enhance their powers, or destroy them at will.

What is his fate?

Muzan meets his end at the hands of Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps in their final battle. After being weakened by Tamayo's poison and Yushiro's illusions, he is confronted by Tanjiro and the Hashira in his original human form. He tries to escape by possessing Tanjiro's body, but fails due to Nezuko's intervention.

As dawn approaches, Muzan realizes that he has no chance of survival and tries to take everyone down with him. However, he is stopped by Tanjiro's determination and courage, as well as the spirits of all those who fought against him. He finally succumbs to the sunlight and disintegrates into dust.
